Sawan Kapoor, also known as ‘The Career Guy’, is career coach. After completing his higher education from Western Michigan University in the United States and the University of Stirling in the U.K. He started working for Daymon Worldwide, the world’s largest private label broker in the FMCG industry.
He quickly progressed from an entry level position to roles of progressive responsibility. In 2006, Sawan joined Total Wine & More, America’s largest retailer of fine wines & spirits but was unable to fit into their culture and was fired in less than 6 months on the job. He then used the framework that he had developed for the job search & application process, which gave the power back to the candidate.
In less than 30 days he generated 4 job offers ranging from 3x to 5x times his previous salary, and joined Palm Bay International, the largest privately owned importer of fine wines & spirits in the US. Sawan went on to head the group’s private label division as CEO, building it to the largest and most profitable player in the industry.
